Mobilizing People through The Power of the Bicycle

In developing countries worldwide, walking is the primary form of transportation. Everyday tasks, such as going to work or school, visiting a health clinic or even getting water is tiring, restricting, and time consuming. Envisioning a world where distance is no longer a barrier to independence and livelihood, World Bicycle Relief (WBR) mobilizes people through The Power of Bicycles.  WBR has built and distributed more than 470,000 Buffalo Bicycles, a study bike that is purpose-built for carrying large or heavy loads over long distances and rugged terrain.

Fulcrum Partners Senior Vice President Retirement, Tom Chisholm is a member of the Advisory Council for World Bicycle Relief. By sharing his time and talents, as well as his support, Tom helps further the objectives of WBR.  More than an avid biker himself, Tom is a triathlon competitor, endurance athlete, and was a member of the Team USA, Long Course Triathlon Team in 2015 and 2012.

“I shall pass through this world but once. Any good thing therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer it or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” Henry Drummond
