Although we’ve previously shared the executive benefits consulting process on Deferred Compensation News and Updates and we include a downloadable PDF, we want to make it easily available to website users who access out site by mobile devices and who may prefer to bypass the mobile download process.
Simplified, our consulting protocol includes:
- Discussion of Objectives and Design Issues
- Preliminary Design of Plan
- Funding Analysis
- Benefit Security Issues
- Development and Process Recommendations
- Plan Administration
Within each of these steps there are numerous considerations, for example, Step 4. Benefit Security Issues includes assessing the level of protection desired and whether it represents a change in control, change of heart or bankruptcy. There’s also a built-in review of security devices including Rabbi Trusts, Rabbicular Trusts, “Haircut” Provisions, Secured Trust, Split-Dollar and Indemnity Insurance.
